Landmarks is the public art program of The University of Texas at Austin – responsible for bringing or commissioning modern and contemporary public art works to the UT campus for students and visitors to enjoy, outside the bounds of traditional museums or galleries.
lookthinkmake has worked with Landmarks since 2010, supporting the organization as they unveil new commissions by preeminent artists including James Turrell, Sol LeWitt, Ann Hamilton, Marc Quinn, Nancy Rubins, and José Parlá. These large pieces of artwork are placed on campus and generate conversation, interest and buzz in Austin, nationally and within arts communities about the pieces themselves, along with the well-known unveiling events hosted on campus by Landmarks.
