The Austin icon to top all icons, Barton Springs is an true original. And Barton Springs Conservancy is a group dedicated to preserving and protecting the springs and the pool, in part through celebrations and fundraisers such as For the Love of the Springs. A casual and lively donor event in the Barton Springs Pool Rotunda, the evening featured a video premiere, a preview of WEST’s XYZ Atlas art exhibition by Jennifer Chenoweth, and music from local 78704 artists.
The conservancy continued its fundraising and celebration in 2017 with the 70th anniversary of the historic bathhouse. Dual events, an evening Bash and a weekend Splash, commemorated not only the bathhouse & springs but also Austin’s Luci Baines Johnson, who was also turning 70. The pair of events engaged the Austin community throughout the weekend, through a glittering evening celebration at the Driskill Hotel, and a Saturday morning parade and plunge, led by Luci Baines Johnson herself.
The brand design and outreach was inspired by the history of Barton Springs and eclectic soul of our beloved city, and featured custom typography, event print collateral, signage, digital design, and public relations efforts. lookthinkmake is proud to continue to support the efforts of Barton Springs Conservancy in 2019.
