With dual degrees in International Business and French from Texas State University, more than 20 years of marketing experience and a crazy knack for numbers, Patricia Buchholtz drives the strategic side of brand communication at lookthinkmake.
Prior to lookthinkmake, Patricia’s journey has included the rise and fall of the dotcom era where she helped define and create one of the original small business e-commerce website-creation platforms; ownership of Brass Tacks Consulting, a business start-up consulting firm; and served as the marketing director for Momark Development – launching The Austonian along with a number of other award-winning Central Texas real estate projects.
In addition to being a Leadership Austin alumna, Patricia serves on the board of Austin Advertising Federation and is a prior board member of the SIMS Foundation, has volunteered with the Austin Children’s Shelter and the Austin Independent School District, and is a guest lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin.
She received the Woman’s Way Business Award for PR and Marketing by Austin Woman Magazine, and was recognized by the Austin Business Journal as one of the top 30 most influential business women in Austin. Patricia served as the President of the Austin Advertising Federation, winning Division 1 President of the Year. Patricia continues to serve the community as a board member of the Andy Roddick Foundation.
From drawing and painting to strategizing and storytelling, Sean has always been a maker. Sean attended Colgate University, graduating with a BA in English Literature, and earned his MA in Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin.
Sean got his start at Leo Burnett in Chicago, where he devised television, print, and branding campaigns for McDonald’s, General Motors, Delta Airlines, USPS, Kellogg’s and more. Sean returned to Austin to serve as the Creative Director for NetSpend and, hooked on the thrill of startup culture, started a habit of building brands from the ground up. From this, lookthinkmake was born.
Sean’s passion for great work translated to his role as a fifteen-year member of the UT-Austin Advertising faculty, where Sean was a Senior Lecturer and led the Texas Creative Program in the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations. He was twice recognized as the Austin Advertising Federation’s Educator of the Year, and also received the prestigious UT System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award. A strong believer in the dialogue between theory and practice, Sean enjoys bringing the best of both worlds together at lookthinkmake.
His board service includes the Austin Advertising Federation, the Texas Exes Austin Chapter, and the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU-CTX). Sean is a frequent guest lecturer, panelist and industry awards judge, and serves as a mentor to students in Colgate University’s Thought Into Action Entrepreneurship Program.
