SIMS Foundation Benefit Bash Campaign Preview

Here’s a look at the work we’re doing with the SIMS Foundation. A non-profit that provides mental health and addiction recovery services to Austin-area musicians, SIMS tapped us to help out with the promotion of their upcoming Benefit Bash. We’re thrilled to help. We’ve been asked to create a look, vibe, and voice, which will be crafted into multiple media pieces, like the ones above.
And you can find more about the SIMS Foundation here.
I’m on Facebook, that’s social media, right?
Holy moly, social media is the buzz topic of the year, but what the heck is it? Simplistically, social media is any form of media that allows the interactive sharing of information and ideas. Is this Facebook and Twitter? Sure. Is it much more? Oh yes. Indeed.
Our philosophy is that every business should use social media, but not every form of social media is appropriate for every business. By understanding a little bit more about how to use social media tools, you may be surprised that you’re already doing it.
Social media tools that are not readily recognized by the masses (aren’t Facebook or Twitter) include Flickr, Vimeo, blog sites, YouTube, Gowalla, Foursquare, LinkedIn, and many many more. When and where you can share, you are social.
We recommend starting with authenticity and then seek to engage your audience in appropriate ways that make sense for your business.
It’s friendly. We like that.
What’s a Go20?
Social Media: Go20 is a microsite developed for Plum Creek. With 1500+ residents already living in Plum Creek, this is the perfect opportunity to allow them to advocate for their own neighborhood.
Art City in 30 Seconds
Art City Austin: Commercial co-developed with Lucky Rabbit Films and hosted on Vimeo.
Social Media: A documentary-style approach, with a large group of local artists collaborating on a large canvas over several hours. The final canvas was displayed in Austin’s 2ND Street district’s storefront windows as a sort of rolling billboard. Hosting on Vimeo allowed the commercial to be easily shared and linked by all involved and those supportive of the event.
TOGS 3: Modular Postcards
Social Media: TOGS stands for Temporary Outdoor Gallery Space and is an internationally reaching contest among architects. We developed an interactive postcard, created a video using the hook-together cards, and hosted it on Vimeo. The video was shared world wide – but the resulting submissions were the real stars.
