Giant Media becomes part of lookthinkmake

Austin-based marketing and public relations consultancies lookthinkmake and Giant Media merged on January 1, 2012. The result of the merger is a newly-created partnership under lookthinkmake including former Giant Media principal Cile Montgomery and current lookthinkmake partners Patricia Buchholtz and Sean Thompson.
Lookthinkmake offers brand communications and advertising services including brand identity and logo development, campaign planning, media planning and informal, interactive street marketing. The firm, which serves local, national and international clients has won twenty industry awards including a coveted national Gold ADDY.
With the integration of the skills and staff of Giant Media, lookthinkmake will now offer public relations services including media relations, content development and social media; and editorial services including writing and editing books, white papers and shortform content.
“Traditional advertising agencies are history,” says lookthinkmake partner Sean Thompson. “Advertising, public relations, and social media need to happen under one roof. The creative work that we do is only as good as the conversations it generates for our clients. With the addition of Cile and the Giant Media team, lookthinkmake is poised to tell even bigger brand stories across all media outlets.”
The principals of Giant Media and lookthinkmake first met in a series of meetings with Austin real estate developers Benchmark Development and real estate developer and consultant Terry Mitchell of MOMARK Development. Following four years of collaboration on real estate and nonprofit projects, the two communications and creative services firms decided to cement their already productive relationship.
“Our capabilities are best expressed in terms of character, intellectual horsepower and experience,” says lookthinkmake partner Cile Montgomery. “Sean, Patricia and I have personalities that conflict in a complementary way. This elevates our work.”
With the merger, lookthinkmake has a total of ten employees. With capacity to take on more work, the agency is expected to continue to grow and add both creative and communications talent.
“We launched lookthinkmake to cater to the entrepreneurial spirit, and over the past three years we’ve had the pleasure of working with clients determined to change the conversation of their industry,” says Patricia Buchholtz, lookthinkmake partner. “Our merger allows us to serve this dynamic group in a fully integrated way.”
Geometrica Print Ads

Geometrica offers free-form and long-span architectural solutions to its clients. Their patented geo-desic designs make building dreamlike structures a snap. We decided the best way to show that was to keep the ads as simple as the product is to set up. Order your own building-in-a-box today on their website.
Brand Patterns
When we develop a brand identity, we make sure it has staying power. That means creating logo-based patterns that can be used as brand-centric graphics that can work anywhere. On the web. On paper. As textiles. As wallpaper. Throughout collateral and packaging systems. And throughout architecture. Here are but a few:
Big Wigs 2011
Ads don’t make themselves. It takes more than an agency to bring ideas to life. The Big Wigs Awards were created by the Austin Ad Federation to thank all of the people that help bring great creative to life, from printers and radio reps to secretaries and interns. So we created sets of industry-friendly Thank You cards, supported by branded digital collateral, to promote the 2011 event. Display them. Pass them around. Give your team the props they deserve. And then go make a night of it, Big Wigs style.
Denizen Identity
Polished and eclectic—in a quirky 04 kind of way. That’s The Denizen, a new residential project that we’ve been tapped to brand.
The Denizen is another visionary project in the 78704 from Terry Mitchell. One with an authenticity that very few new developments can claim. Cousins to The Austonian, The Denizen serves central-Austinites with a high-end and welcoming place to call home, at below-market price-tag.
We took inspiration from the surrounding area and created a brand that encompasses the sophisticated vibe of the project, the texture of the city, and a blend of vintage and modern, and a healthy dose of wit.

SIMS 2011 BENEFIT BASH
We like happy music. We like happy musicians even more. Which is why, for the second year in a row, we’ve been honored to help create the look and feel for the SIMS Foundation Benefit Bash. With Grupo Fantasma as the headliner, we decided to add a little Latin flair to the brand. The result was posters, eblasts, tickets and even auction paddles that echoed the fun and vibrancy of the event’s music, and the uplifting message and mission of the SIMS Foundation.

ART ALLIANCE AUSTIN COLOR SWATCHES
Art makes a city. And in Austin, it makes a rather colorful city thanks to Art Alliance Austin. We gathered images from several past Art Alliance Austin events and initiatives and put them together in color swatches to build an overall campaign for the 2011 season. The campaign spanned all media: oversized takeaway swatches, event programs, outdoor, online, social media, mobile, magazine, newspaper, tickets, installations, you name it. We also created an iPhone app so that people could get involved and create their own swatches from their favorite parts of the city.
Art Alliance Austin has a huge story to tell. And a color story felt just right.
PLUM CREEK GOLF COURSE
What makes a good spring project? How about golf course branding? Plum Creek wanted us to rebrand their course, with a nod to the current community look and feel. And they wanted the rebrand to center around a mark that works for signage, merchandising, architecture, wallpaper, you name it. We went with a flexible solution that’s equal parts monogram and movement.
Art Alliance Austin Donation Cans
Sometimes art needs a little bit of help. So we created some cool paint-style cans for people to throw some green Art Alliance Austin’s way. They tend to get pretty full.
RisherMartin Job Site Signage

Anybody can hang a shingle out front. But only RisherMartin can do one like this. They’re so good at what they do, they fabricated it themselves. You should see what they can do with kitchens.
