lookthinkmake – award winning agency

It’s a little great when you say – ‘We won an Addy’ and the family asks, “What’s an Addy?” Sigh. Each year the Austin Ad Federation showcases Austin’s best creative works and lookthinkmake was selected to win a silver award in the collateral category. Many thanks to great clients who are willing to be interesting and allowing us to flex our creative strength.

Our winning entry?  A business card for a local custom home builder: Risher Fine Homes. Yep, a business card. We take creativity and brand development seriously, all the way to the basics.

Risher Business Card

Multi-function Business Card: The card is translucent and a little thicker than the average card so that it can become a straight-edge. It has a  1/8 inch scale with 3 inches of ruler. Add a protractor and suddenly you have the ability to quickly review blueprints with your handy business card. Oh. And people will also have your contact info.

Plum Creek Selects Austin-based Public Relations, Advertising Agencies of Record

The developers of Plum Creek, an award-winning mixed-use community in Kyle, Texas, have selected Austin-based Giant Media and lookthinkmake to be Plum Creek’s public relations and advertising agencies of record. Plum Creek, a New Urbanist community established in 1997, is launching a new communications campaign as it enters into its second phase of commercial and residential development.

Kyle, TX (PRWEB) March 3, 2009 — The developers of Plum Creek, an award-winning mixed-use community in Kyle, Texas, have selected Austin-based Giant Media and lookthinkmake to be Plum Creek’s public relations and advertising agencies of record. Plum Creek, a New Urbanist community established in 1997, is launching a new communications campaign as it enters into its second phase of commercial and residential development.

Giant Media is a boutique public relations and marketing consultancy specializing in entertainment and real estate. With more than 20 years of collective marketing and communications experience, principals Maria Bergh and Cile Montgomery will lead Plum Creek’s communication initiatives including media relations, community relations and grassroots outreach. Other Giant Media clients include the Austin Film Festival and The Austonian, a luxury high-rise real estate project currently under construction in downtown Austin.

Lookthinkmake is a brand communication studio created by conceptual marketers Patricia Buchholtz and Sean Thompson, who founded lookthinkmake after working together on marketing campaigns for local real estate clients. Patricia has over ten years of experience in product and service marketing and Sean has worked in advertising creative for over 10 years; Sean’s career experience includes work at Leo Burnett with clients Delta and McDonald’s. Lookthinkmake focuses on integrated brand messaging, providing print media, product and package design, web and mobile communication, guerilla and wearable branding for its clients.

Lookthinkmake serves as a strategic advisor to the Plum Creek development team, leading messaging strategy, media planning and campaign development. Giant Media works with lookthinkmake in a virtual team capacity, supporting advertising and marketing activity with media relations, community relations and grassroots outreach.

“Plum Creek was designed to appeal to Central Texans who desire the charm and personality of a walkable, family-friendly old Austin neighborhood but are unable to afford the Austin housing market,” said Terry Mitchell, Momark Development president. “Giant Media and lookthinkmake understand the financial and environmental sustainability that New Urbanist communities offer. We look forward to collaborating with these agencies in support of the next phase of Plum Creek’s growth.”

Plum Creek is a 2,200-acre mixed-use, master-planned community located 15 minutes south of Downtown Austin. Incorporating the principles of New Urbanism, Plum Creek is designed for the people who live, work and play there. Commercial and residential amenities include shared parks, walking and biking trails and a golf course.

Situated along the IH-35 corridor in Kyle, Texas, the Plum Creek real estate project is in close proximity to Austin, San Marcos and Wimberley. Plum Creek’s commercial sections, which include the Uptown District, surround a proposed Austin-San Antonio commuter rail stop.

Plum Creek

On December 12, 2008, lookthinkmake received its first official client, Plum Creek.  The best part is that Plum Creek has amazing history. It’s a 2200-acre, master-planned community just south of Austin and has been growing since about 1997.

There are several real estate developments to represent in and around Austin, as Austin has not been hit in the same way as other areas of the US. However, the developers of Plum Creek have had an incredible vision for the community before it was chic to have an incredible vision. New Urbanism. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes quite a commitment to create a development that caters to New Urbanist principles. But this one has been planned from the beginning to do just that. And the history of the build out follows that these guys are serious about it.

So it’s our privilege and our pleasure to tell this story. What it means to those that live there, why others might consider Plum Creek a good place to land, and all along educate others about why New Urbanism concepts aren’t really new, but are experiencing a much-needed renewal.
