Austin Custom Builder David Dalgleish Launches Hill Country Hideaway

Master builder David Dalgleish has created Frio Cañon, an exclusive second-home community on the Frio River. The 180-acre waterfront community is a place for family and friends to escape the frenetic pace of city life and connect with one another in the scenic Texas Hill Country.

Individual homes are complemented by a surrounding wilderness preserve and the scenic Texas Hill Country. On-site amenities include an extensive trail system, a river park and the Red House, the original homestead that has been converted into an entertainment area. Activities for families include swimming, tubing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, skeet shooting, bird watching, cookouts, outdoor movie nights, and evenings spent around the community campfire.

Frio Cañon was founded in 2008, when David Dalgleish purchased the land in an effort to protect the land from overdevelopment. Over the past three years, Dalgleish developed a master plan for the property, built infrastructure and began working with architects to create designs for the type of riverfront homes he imagined in the community.

For more information about Frio Cañon and the homes and sites for sale, visit the website http://www.friocanon.net/.

Denizen Identity

Polished and eclectic—in a quirky 04 kind of way. That’s The Denizen, a new residential project that we’ve been tapped to brand.

The Denizen is another visionary project in the 78704 from Terry Mitchell. One with an authenticity that very few new developments can claim. Cousins to The Austonian, The Denizen serves central-Austinites with a high-end and welcoming place to call home, at below-market price-tag.

We took inspiration from the surrounding area and created a brand that encompasses the sophisticated vibe of the project, the texture of the city, and a blend of vintage and modern, and a healthy dose of wit.

EDGEWICK ANNOUNCES A NEW DOG PARK

Dogs shouldn’t be cooped up inside. Edgewick knows this, so they added a dog park to their community space. We also know this, so we let a dog take over a billboard. The wind really liked playing with its floppy ears.

Edgewick SXSW Chronicle Ads

Edgewick is just a few blocks from downtown and South Congress, where all the magic of SXSW happens. Living there is kind of like having the best bands rocking out in your backyard.

Plum Creek: a logo lookthinkmakeover

Plum Creek has a great history. It’s been around for about 10 years, the more established areas are so gorgeous, and the community is joyfully fun to interact with. More recently, they opened up the commercial district which resulted in a re-thinking of their brand.

The previous iteration of the Plum Creek logo included white picket fences. While charming, the fences really spoke to a residential audience ignoring the commercial, mixed-use completely. The Plum Creek Development team called upon us to review their brand and incorporate the vibe of Plum Creek, the New Urbanism, the connectivity.

We went to work and developed a brand that talks to both the residential community as well as the commercial community and does so with a reminder that this type of development is really about being sustainable.

We hinted at a plum with a stem. Seems obvious. Take a closer look. The stem is green – sustainability. The stem is also homes and buildings all together – think – connected, commercial, residential. Make time to visit Plum Creek. It’s worth it.
